Service Area: The Cooperative serves much of Chippewa County and also small parts of Rusk, Taylor, Dunn, and Barron Counties. It has about 7,500 accounts which are served by over 1,300 miles of line. The distribution system is maintained by 21 full-time employees. It is a formidable challenge for the Cooperative to provide low cost, reliable electric power to its members who reside and work in sparsely populated farming areas and the heavily wooded lake sections in our part of the Chippewa Valley. The Cooperative has about five accounts per mile of distribution line.

Power Supply: The Cooperative does not generate its own power. It purchases all its electric requirements from Dairyland Power Cooperative which is located in La Crosse, Wisconsin. CVEC is one of 25 Cooperatives that owns and operates Dairyland Power Cooperative. One director from each Cooperative serves on the DPC Board of Directors. The total Dairyland System serves over 250,000 accounts in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, and Illinois. Dairyland's generating resources include coal, natural gas, hydro, wind, landfill gas and animal waste. Dairyland, is a Touchstone Energy Cooperative, that has provided electrical energy for over 70 years.
