Budget Billing

Electronic Funds Transfer

Don’t write us another check to pay your bill. By using electronic funds transfer you can have your monthly bill automatically paid from your bank account. Please contact us at billing@cceci.com or at 618-526-7282 to enroll. This service is also free to members of CCEC!

E-Bill / E-Business Solution

Look up your bill, and past bills, pay your bill with a credit card, and more by registering and logging into our E-Business Solution. We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and most Debit Cards for a one-time, or automatically recurring payment. All you need is a recent electric bill and an e-mail address and you’re ready to begin!

High Usage / High Power Bills

The questions and guidelines found in the booklet, “Your Family is Unique” could help you find the answers to some of the questions you may have, and is also available at our office. High energy usage can be contributed to poor home construction and poor insulation. Perform a home energy audit to help find out where all of your energy is going.

The Engineering and Operations Department at Clinton County Electric Cooperative determine which rate schedule every electric service will be subject to. The information used for rate determination are: ampacity of the service, voltage of the service, intended use of the service, devices connected to service, and much more. More detailed information can be found by downloading our current rates.

Clinton County Electric Cooperative, Inc. (CCECI) retires each member’s allocated capital credit account upon the member’s passing. If the deceased member holds the account in joint tenancy with others, CCECI retires the deceased member’s proportionate interest in that jointly held account.

Processing the retirement of capital credits for a decedent’s estate is governed by Illinois law that requires the representative of the decedent’s estate to either provide letters of office (letters of administration) issued by the circuit court in the county where the decedent resided (formal estate administration), or a small estate affidavit (for estates with no real property and personal property with a total value of less than $100,000). CCECI can provide the small estate affidavit form to the estate’s representative but cannot provide legal advice on completing the form. A certified copy of the death certificate for the deceased member along with a certified copy of the decedent’s Will (if any) is also required.

An alternative, less cumbersome, method of distributing capital credit accounts of a deceased member is available to those who have chosen to designate a beneficiary (before passing) to receive their capital credit interest in CCECI. The Uniform TOD Security Registration Act allows the CCECI member to designate a beneficiary of the member’s capital credit account for distribution to the beneficiary upon the member’s passing. The designation must be in writing, signed by the member, dated and include the full name, address and contact information for the designated beneficiary. An acceptable form for designating the beneficiary can be found HERE.

We cannot accept Wills filed not-for-probate, letters from friends attesting to your relationship with a deceased member, form affidavits that do not comply with the requirements of a small estate affidavit or any other documentation that does not satisfy the requirements of the Illinois Probate Act. Consult legal counsel for specific advice on this issue as well as all other matters of estate planning.
