KAMO Electric Cooperative

KAMO Electric Cooperative, Inc. (KAMO Power), with headquarters in Vinita, Oklahoma(link is external), is a Generation and Transmission (G&T) cooperative formed in 1941.  KAMO is owned by and provides power supply resources for 17 member distribution cooperatives in northeast Oklahoma and southwest Missouri.  KAMO is one of six G&T utilities that own Associated Electric Cooperative(link is external), Inc. (AECI).  AECI provides the electric capacity and energy needs for KAMO and the other five G&T's.

KAMO Power exists to serve the needs of its member distribution cooperatives by providing safe, low-cost, reliable power and additional services to its members.  KAMO accomplishes this through its high voltage transmission network and communications system, qualified and dedicated personnel, planning, effective system operations, maintenance programs and an economic, reliable power supply.

KAMO's annual sales to member cooperatives exceeds 6.7 million megawatt-hours, which represents approximately 313,455 member-owners.  Revenues from these sales are used to cover KAMO's expenses.  KAMO Power and its members are not-for-profit organizations; any revenues over costs are credited back to the member-owners.  These credits are then returned as funds are available.

This partnership between KAMO Power, AECI and the five other G&T members of AECI creates a powerful network of high voltage transmission and generation resources over Missouri, Northeast Oklahoma and Southern Iowa for the benefit of our member distribution cooperatives and their member owners.

KAMO Electric Cooperative, Inc. d/b/a as KAMO Power ('KAMO') in order to comply with new FEMA guidelines, KAMO is hereby soliciting to Pre-Qualify Electric High Voltage Transmission Line and Substation suppliers for materials and equipment.
