Xcoal Energy & Resources is a leading supplier of United States origin metallurgical and thermal coal to customers throughout the world. Our core business is marketing low, mid, and high volatile hard coking coals from Appalachian mining operations located in Pennsylvania and West Virginia.Formed in November 2003 and privately held, Xcoal has experienced rapid/steady growth. We have consistently increased annual contract tonnage and are continuously expanding our customer base of world class integrated steel producers and thermal coal customers.In 2013, Xcoal’s exports were approximately sixteen (16) million tonnes. Xcoal is among the largest coal exporters in the USA with shipments via ports in Baltimore, Maryland, USA and Hampton Roads, Virginia, USA.Headquartered in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, USA, Xcoal also has U.S. offices in: Baltimore, Maryland, Key Biscayne, Florida, Newport News, Virginia, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and San Antonio, Texas.We take pride in our record of providing customers reliable service, stable quality, and consistent supply.

Our export concentration of USA origin coal has enabled Xcoal to be market leaders with a broad market presence maintaining export throughput capacity at multiple terminals in Baltimore, Maryland and Hampton Roads, Virginia. Xcoal retains an experienced marketing team to provide world-class customer service and market responsiveness and has also developed a first-rate logistics group to oversee product shipments and delivery in all aspects. By managing the entire supply chain, in many instances from the mine to our customer’s port facilities, Xcoal provides a first-line perspective on the business and seamlessly integrate coal, rail, port, and vessel freight into competitive product delivery.To enhance service and meet the dynamic needs of our customers, we have broadened our scope of business over the years to include a variety of products, projects, and logistic solutions.In addition to hard coking coal products, Xcoal is also supplying semi-soft coking coal, low and high volatile PCI coal, and anthracite coal to meet shifting global raw material sourcing patterns. We have also participated in funding mine development ventures, fostering preparation plant expansions, and developing bulk terminal projects to ensure quality control and maximum efficiency. Finally, we have implemented an exclusive “top-off” transshipment procedure which allows Xcoal to load USA origin coal in capesize vessels up to 210,000 DWT.
