IPC Energy is an Ontario based, 100% Canadian Owned and operated, renewable energy project development and management company established in 2005 as Independent Power Corp.

Our service portfolio includes project feasibility, planning, design and engineering, permitting and regulatory approvals, project management, procurement, operations and maintenance.

Our qualified team has collectively over 50 years of industry experience in project development and management which provides a competitive advantage to our clients with our ability to work closely and effectively with individual landowners, municipalities and other partners to develop, build and operate renewable energy projects across Canada and internationally.

How we help you reach your goals

What separates us from other developers is our hands on, transparent and efficient approach to project development and community consultation that builds genuine relationships with our stakeholders and ultimately contributes to the success of the project. We particularly take pride in the establishment of community power projects such as renewable energy co-operatives.

We at IPC believe that renewable energy provides a safe, viable and economic alternative to other forms of electrical generation as well as becoming an important supplement & inevitable replacement to other forms of power generation that depend on fossel fuels or produce radioactive waste for thousands of years.

Investment

You have an opportunity to participate in a community-owned renewable energy project promoted by IPC Energy and theRural Community Power Producers Association (RCPP).

By joining one of our already established reneweable energy co-ops with a membership you gain the ability to invest in a renewable energy co-op of your choosing. Once the energy co-ops have an approved offering statement that has been approved by Financial Services Commission of Ontario (FSCO), you will be able to determine your level of investment and purchase shares in the co-op of your choice. This keeps the ownership of these projects local - where it belongs!

Wind Generation

Wind generation captures the energy contained in the wind. The wind is a result of atmospheric motions caused by the heating of the atmosphere by the sun, the irregularity of the earth's surface, and the rotation of the planet. Wind flow patterns and speeds which vary greatly and are modified by bodies of water, differences in terrain and vegetation. We use wind energy for many purposes: flying a kite, sailing a boat and even producing clean electricity.

Wind power describe the process where the wind is used to produce clean electricity. Wind turbines convert “kinetic” energy in the wind into “mechanical” power. Mechanical power can be used for specific tasks historically such as pumping water or grinding grain in flour or with the use of a generator can convert this mechanical power into electricity via the use of a wind turbine.

A wind turbine works opposite to a fan. Instead of using electricity to make air move, wind turbines use air movement to make electricity. The wind turns the blades, which rotate the shaft, which connects to a generator and in return produces electricity
