Fission Uranium Corp is a Canadian based uranium exploration and development company with a major discovery (Patterson Lake South) and other properties in Saskatchewan's Athabasca Basin and the Macusani District in Peru. Fission Uranium was spun out of Fission Energy Corp. on April 26th, 2013. Fission Uranium Corp. is a Canadian-based uranium exploration company operating in Canada's Athabasca Basin, home to the world's richest source of high-grade uranium. The Company was spun-out to the shareholders of Fission Energy Corp, after Fission Energy was acquired by Denison Mines Corp. in February, 2013. In December 2013, Fission Uranium consolidated 100% ownership of the PLS Property, where an exciting high-grade uranium discovery was made in 2012, by acquiring all of the outstanding shares of Alpha Minerals Inc. The PLS Property, which now comprises seventeen mineral claims totaling 31,309 ha, is Fission Uranium’s sole property asset.The management team is led by CEO & Chairman, Dev Randhawa and Ross McElroy, COO, President & Chief Geologist. Mr. Randhawa and Mr. McElroy have successfully branded the Fission name into one of Canada’s leading uranium explorers. In 2011, Fission Energy was named a TSX Venture 50 Company and in 2013 Mr. Randhawa was named Finance Monthly’s “Dealmaker of the Yearâ€Å¥, while also being co-awarded, along with Ross McElroy, as The Northern Miner’s 2013 “Mining Persons of the Yearâ€Å¥. Ross McElroy was also the recipient of the Prospector and Developer’s Association’s (“PDACâ€Å¥) prestigious Bill Dennis Award in 2013, in recognition of the PLS discovery as a significant mineral discovery in Canada.Exploration is ongoing at the PLS uranium discovery, which continues to develop as a high-grade, shallow depth uranium deposit.
