Enel Green Power North America, Inc. (EGP-NA), part of Enel Green Power, is a leading owner and operator of renewable energy plants in North America with projects operating and under development in 21 U.S. states and two Canadian provinces. EGP-NA owns and operates over 90 plants with an installed capacity exceeding 2 GW powered by renewable hydropower, wind, geothermal, and solar energy. We have a very large presence in Europe: we operate along the entire energy chain, from generation to sale to end users in Italy, Spain, Slovakia and Romania; we produce in Belgium, Russia, Greece and Bulgaria, and sell electricity and gas in many other countries on the continent, from the Atlantic to the Baltic.

We are one of the largest energy companies in the Americas, with power generation plants of all types across 11 countries from Alberta in Canada to the central Andes. We supply energy to some of the largest cities in South America: Rio de Janeiro, Bogota, Buenos Aires, Santiago de Chile and Lima.

We produce electricity in Morocco and South Africa, where in 2015 we won the award of “Investor of the year” for our various projects in the renewable energy sector. This development will continue in other countries in Africa and Asia, with operations already up and running in India and Indonesia.

We are expanding in order to reach more people and connect more people to safe and sustainable energy, especially in South America and Africa.

We are pioneering the development and application of new technologies for more sustainable energy generation and distribution, in particular through renewable sources and smart grids.

3.     We are opening new ways for people to manage energy
We are developing new processes that meet people’s real needs, helping them use and manage energy more efficiently, specifically through smart meters and digitalization.

We are developing new services that use energy to respond to global challenges, with a special focus on connectivity and electric transport.

Carbon neutral in 2050

As a leading energy company, Enel plays a critical role in tackling climate change and its impact on people's lives. This has been recognized by Fortune magazine, which in 2015 listed Enel no. 5 out of 50 companies capable of changing the world.

By 2030, approximately 30% of the planet's energy demand will be covered by green energy. We are committed to renewable energy sources, such as hydro, wind, solar, geothermal, biomass and cogeneration plants,  and together with our partners we are developing new environmentally-friendly technologies.

Enel is working closely with the UN Global Compact, Clinton Global Initiatives and other projects to achieve this goal together.

Smart like the Internet

Carbon neutral energy generation is not enough. We are also working on smarter, data-driven ways to analyze energy consumption in real time, distribute energy more efficiently and enable entirely new services for people.

These smart grids only deliver electricity when and where it is needed - reducing costs and waste while helping to protect the environment.
