Dail C. West began participating in the oil and gas business more than 50 years ago, establishing a network of partners based on outstanding character and track records for success. 

In 1997, Gary D. West formed Westport Ltd.; he continued to grow current relationships and build new ones, creating new opportunities for both companies. WestEnergy, LLC was created January 1, 2007 as the two original companies merged to create operational efficiencies. John C. West and Corbin H. West currently lead the company.

WestEnergy is involved in the oil and natural gas exploration business primarily as non-operating working interest owners in Oklahoma, Kansas, Texas and Wyoming.  

WestEnergy is committed to developing reserves and increasing production in Oklahoma, Texas and Wyoming with proven operators that have large stakes in the development of each area. The company has historically operated solely from cash flow derived from current production and other royalty interests.

With more than 50 years of operations, the company has a vast variety of leasehold positions that continually provide the company with the option to participate in new wells as the company focuses on large scale development plays.

WestEnergy has participated in multiple mineral right ownership partnerships. The company also holds overriding royalty interests in many of the wells where it participates as a working interest owner.

The mineral rights and other overriding royalties owned by WestEnergy are spread out over the oil and natural gas producing regions of the United States and currently include active properties from North Dakota to Louisiana.

WestEnergy continues to invest in mineral rights as part of its core strategy and views these rights as growing in importance to the future of the company.
