Signal Plating was one of the first plating specialists in the United States to implement the environmentally preferred trivalent chromium plating which is less toxic than hexavalent chromium. In addition to health advantages, less chromium is emitted into the air along with lower concentration levels resulting in less chromium waste. As such, Signal Plating’s Cradle to Cradle compliant plating helps contribute to product certifications such as Cradle to Cradle certification and BIFMA level certification. Both certification programs cover multiple attributes of environmental and social sustainability and are assessed by a third-party certifier to ensure products and components meet requirements for social responsibility, energy use, materials selection and human and environmental health impacts.
