Why Recycling Matters

At this recycling center, both CRV and scrap metal items are purchased. Recycling these materials keeps your property and community free of waste and clutter, liberating valuable space. Pollution and contamination are also reduced through this means. Because recycling reduces or eliminates the need for new materials, greenhouse gases are released in lesser amounts. Processing and manufacturing items with recycled material is also often less energy intensive than making products from all new materials.

Recycling scrap metal and CRV items is part of our responsibility to take care of our planet. At this Ecology Recycling Center, we take our commitment to the next level by constantly striving to use the latest and most eco-friendly techniques.

What is CRV?

CRV is a special type of recycling that mainly deals with beverage and other food containers. It is part of California’s laws and regulations that ensure that consumers are paid for recycling at certified recycling centers. CRV stands for California Refund Value and is backed up by a specific amount that consumers must be paid for turning in these recycling items. Saving up and turning in your beverage containers such as soda, beer and juice cans, vegetable juice cans and wine bottles, etc. can pay off. The CRV payments can really add up if you turn in these items in bulk,, making your trip to a recycling center worthwhile. Furthermore, you’ll participate in the important job of recycling which helps care for our planet earth.

What Counts As Scrap Metal?

Ferrous and non-ferrous metals are the two categories into which scrap metal is typically divided. Ecology’s Perris and Moreno Valley CRV and scrap metal recycling center buys both ferrous and non-ferrous metals.

What’s the difference between the two? The distinguishing characteristic of ferrous metals is that they contain iron or steel. Other elements may be included in a mix to produce certain properties in the metal. You can expect to find ferrous metals in vehicle scrap, demolition site scrap, some old appliances, structural steel and metal offsets from manufacturing warehouses and industries. Another typical characteristic of ferrous metals is that they are magnetic.

As you may imagine, non-ferrous metals do not have iron or steel mixed in with them. For this reason, they are often more valuable than ferrous metals. Some of the more common non-ferrous metals are aluminum, copper, brass and stainless steel. These metals are typically found in items such as window frames, cars, bicycles, faucets, doorknobs, wires, some appliances and kitchenware. Although stainless steel does contain iron, it is considered non-ferrous because it is not magnetic and also contains nickel.

As in each of them, we have strived to create a streamlined process that is convenient for our users. We can deliver and pick up roll-off bins of various types & sizes to recycle your scrap metal. Our goal is to make recycling easy and convenient. That way, moving towards a better, more eco-friendly world is one step closer to reality.

 WE DO NOT ACCEPT:

Ecology’s newest CRV and scrap metal and recycling center is the Perris/Moreno Valley facility. CRV efforts are important to the Tri-Valley area since much of the area is undeveloped or includes many watershed areas. That means that the damage of placing recyclable items in landfills is greater. Some water seepage often occurs in landfills and can be damaging to watersheds. Thus, the more items that are recycled, the better. This facility also strongly supports appliance recycling as well as various scrap metal recycling and reclamation efforts.

Although the communities of Perris and Moreno Valley aren’t as large as nearby L.A. and San Diego, they are still bustling centers needing access to excellent waste disposal systems. Recycling helps avoid disposal of trash through other means such as landfills and incinerators.
