Commodity materials can be purchased if a customer cannot reuse nor has an ongoing requirement for recycling.  Value is added through processing and marketed to manufacturers that can use secondary materials.

Tycom Recycling also works closely with customers in landfill avoidance programs.  This is a creative situation where hard to recycle scrap streams are introduced to manufacturers or consumers that can utilize less than perfect materials.

Landfill avoidance involves research and marketing.  It should also be noted that some waste streams will remain destined for landfill, only because there is no alternative situation.  There have been many instances where Tycom Recycling has revisited waste streams because the market values or applications have changed and a solution is possible.
