PMAI is a supplier of ESR (electroslag remelt) electrodes and ingots, VAR (vacuum arc remelt) electrodes and ingots, and bottom poured ingots.  ESR ingots are available in sizes of 20-inch, 25-inch, 33-inch, and 34-inch diameters.  VAR ingots are available in sizes of 20-inch, 32-inch, and 40-inch diameters. 

Bottom poured products are available in a variety of shapes, sizes, and weights as indicated in the table below.  Other sizes may also be available upon request.

Toll processing

Your scrap materials may have more value than you realize. Have Prime Metals & Alloys Inc. upgrade them into more useful products. PMAI can melt your scrap solids, turnings, powder, and grindings, and then AOD refine them to produce valuable products for a variety of applications.

Bottom poured ingots, master alloys, electrodes, VIM pre-melts, and NiCo refinery slabs are just some of the more common products produced from toll processed scrap. PMAI also produces shot products from toll processed scrap.

PMAI shot products are poured, dried, screened to size, and packaged to meet customer specific requirements. PMAI shot products are used in a variety of applications, such as the reclamation of Re, Ta, Pt, Ni, Co, and W from superalloys, as feed stock material for melting operations, and in bottom poured ingot set up operations. PMAI is eager to help, whether you just want to consolidate melt your scrap to obtain a known chemistry, or to produce an upgraded feedstock for your manufacturing operations.

PMAI’s customized master alloy products can help significantly reduce, or eliminate the need for premium-priced virgin additives without compromising your product quality. 

The ultra-low gas levels present in PMAI’s master alloys help reduce the process cycle times in VIM (vacuum induction melting) operations.  Reduced process cycle times help lower operating costs.

Our master alloys are utilized in a wide range of melting applications to reduce the total raw material costs.  Customers benefit from these  products whether they have small-sized melt facilities with heat sizes of only a few hundred pounds, or larger-sized stainless mills of more than 200,000 pounds.
