Both cathodic and barrier protection are achieved while producing intermetallic zinc-iron alloy layers and an outer layer of pure zinc. The coating appearance can yield a shiny or spangled look, as well as a dull, matte gray finish and is paintable or weldable after the galvanizing process is complete.
