JLM, now Nevada’s largest specialty industrial distributor, was founded by John L. Moser in 1973, a San Francisco Bay Area transplant. In 1987, Michael B. Stuart purchased the company and immediately began expanding our product lines and manufacturers. Surrounding Mike is a staff of experienced, knowledgeable and helpful Nevadans who we trust will make each of your JLM experiences rewarding.

Our company originated as a fastener distributor, later evolving into the Specialty Industrial Distributor that we are today. We serve industries such as metalcutting, metalforming, precision metal finishing, and related maintenance facilities. JLM has been featured in numerous trade magazines through the years, providing us with accolades for customer cost savings, personal service and industry expertise.

Management and Vision
February 1, 2008, marks twenty years under the leadership of its’ current owner and President, Michael B. Stuart. Mike has had extensive experience in Industrial Distribution since 1979. Prior to that, Mike held several positions in Manufacturing, including Machine Tool building and Carbide Insert manufacturing and fabrication in Detroit. Mike was first involved in the recycling and exporting of carbide metals while attending boarding school in The Netherlands in the years 1968-1969. Upon graduation from High School, Mike returned to the United States to complete a Bachelor of Arts degree at Wayne State University in Detroit. Mike and his family moved west to The San Francisco Bay in 1979. He entered the field of Industrial Distribution, working there until moving to Nevada in 1987. Upon the passing of the founder of JLM in 1987, Mike acquired the assets of JLM.

Staff

The staff members at JLM are industry experienced individuals and integral parts of the whole. We employ people, not bodies. It is our belief that that without the parts, there is no whole. Each member of our team endeavors to offer the best possible service and product, to you, our customer. There is no team member that is more or less important than another. We take great pride in going beyond the apathetic responses, (so prevalent in this time), to offering our customers real answers based on our knowledge and field experience. If we can’t provide immediate answers or solutions, we will call upon the resources of our many factory representatives to assist further. We endeavor to make JLM a pleasant place to work. We know that happy people make happy customers!
