KW Plastics

KW Plastics, Troy, AL, was established in 1981 as a recycler of polypropylene used automotive battery casings. A second facility was opened in Bakersfield, CA in 1986 to better serve and utilize freight for West Coast customers. In 1993 KW Plastics Recycling Division opened to recycle post-consumer HDPE.

KW Plastics entered the packaging industry in 1998 with the opening of KW Container, an injection company that molds 100% recycled and 100% recyclable paint containers.

KW Plastics and its affiliates are partner companies with Wiley Sanders Trucklines, one of the nation’s leading common motor carriers operating in 48 states.

Each of the affiliate companies work together to provide closed loop solutions, seamless logistics and a strong network of resources to our suppliers and customers.

CAPACITY

With more than 100 million lbs in silo capacity and equipment to process over a billion lbs annually, KW boasts the largest capacities to purchase, store and reprocess resin. Extrusion lines range from 6-inch up to 12-inch with both single and twin-screw extruders.

KW Plastics is considered the world’s largest reprocessor for high density polyethylene and polypropylene resins.

CERTIFICATIONS & AWARDS & INDUSTRY INVOLVEMENT

KW Plastics is an ISO: 9001-2000 registered facility with ISO-IEC 17025:2005 accredited laboratories. KW is presently the only recycler to hold UL-certification, and the first recycler to receive the Ford Q1 supplier award (1994).

KW Plastics holds certification for HDPE automotive air management systems and has been awarded with numerous supplier certification and awards.

APPLICATIONS

Rigid quality assurance and quality control programs and proprietary technology allows for KW’s high-quality resin to be used in a variety of applications by major manufacturers coast-to-coast. KW’s PCR applications include: Automotive, Beauty & Personal Care Packaging, Pipe, Recreation, Construction, Agriculture, Paint & Coatings Containers, Flexible Packaging and Sheet.
