We specialize in close tolerance machining, using multi-axis CNC equipment and precision fabrication, in all raw material alloys and applications. From small “hold in your hand” components to 20-ton overhead traveling bridge cranes, we can customize your specific milling, turning, and fabrication needs.

A history marked by growth

B & F Machine Company, Inc., is located in central Connecticut, ten miles south of Hartford, our state’s capital. New Britain, Connecticut has been our home of choice since the beginning of our operations in 1972.

At that time, B & F Machine Company had 2 employees and limited facilities and equipment. But we had a strong vision of quality, on-time deliveries, and competitive pricing. These three primary goals have provided us with continuous yet controlled growth over nearly 4 decades, which have led to our current state-of-the-art facility, 122,000 square feet of manufacturing floor space, and complete dedication to our on-going vision.

Engineering Services

Our engineers work in partnership with our customers to develop their new projects. Working closely to make sure we understand exactly what you need. We can work to customer supplied models before drawings have been established.

This process facilitates the demanding delivery schedules that can plague a project before it has a chance to go into production. Our engineering talent and skill are supported by these capabilities:

Modeling

• Solid 3-D modeling capability, with associated parametric design, and assemblies
• For All Engineering Operations, B & F is using the latest Unigraphics NX software
• 3-D translations: PRT, Parasolid, STEP 203, STEP 214, and IGES
• 2-D Translations: DXF, DWG
• We are a member of Auto-Web, and Edistrib
• All major programs are 3-D model driven. Models are either customer supplied or B & F-built UG/NX models

Programming

• Wireless DNC directly connected to our engineering shared database
• CAD/CAM Milling: From 2-Axis to True 5-Axis Programming Capabilities
