Biodiesel is a diesel fuel alternative that can be made from a variety of different oil sources, such as recycled waste vegetable oil, canola, soybean oil, algae, or animal fat. It can be used in most diesel engines with little or no modifications required, and can be used alone or blended with petroleum diesel in any proportion. Biodiesel is NOT the same as straight vegetable oil, which requires fuel system modifications in order to run in conventional diesel cars and trucks. It is also NOT the same as ethanol, which is a corn-based alternative fuel that can be used in certain gasoline engines. Not all biofuels are created equal! Dogpatch Biofuels carries only B99.9 biodiesel made from sustainable sources, because we feel it is currently the only commercially-available alternative fuel that is truly good for the environment and easy to use at the same time. Commercial biodiesel is subject to standards set forth by the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM). The National Biodiesel Board's ASTM-D6751 Specifications Sheet has more information on the specific standards for B99.9 (99.9%) biodiesel. Dogpatch Biofuels is now a 24-hour card lock station with high quality, recycled-content B99.9 available to users with PIN or Fleet Card access. Incredible Adventures, which some of you may remember from the days of the San Francisco Biofuels Cooperative, fueling up in our back alley, monthly meetings in our office, and one, maybe two great parties, has moved to a new location in the Produce Market not too far away. We, at Incredible Adventures, miss operating out of the station, but continue to use B99.9 in our fleet of Biodiesel vans (which has grown to 7), which we have been doing proudly for the past 12 years. Incredible Adventures The station house is closed, but 24-hour access is now complementary with the convenience of being able to use our fueling terminal to tank up with biodiesel 24 HOURS A DAY, 7 DAYS A WEEK!
