Kalumetals is located in Derry, Pennsylvania along the Western foothills of the Allegheny Mountains. Kalumetals was founded in the mid 1970's and began by developing a process and recycling path for tool-steel grinding swarf that was generated by the twist drill manufacturing industry.  From those early days we have evolved into a multifaceted metals recycling facility with a world wide reputation for providing outstanding service and innovative handling of metal bearing industrial by-products. Kalumetals specializes in the processing and recycling of spent catalysts, metal sludges and metallic filtercakes. Additionally, there is a strong focus on the recycling of scrap metal powders, grindings, turnings and solids.

Our primary processing furnace for spent catalysts and metal residues is unique in our industry.  It is a proprietary batch furnace process that virtually eliminates any loss of metals or cross contamination from previously processed materials.  As a result, our clients benefit from a superior recovery and a cleaner, more valuable end product.  Our process also uses a technology that, above all, is environmentally sound.  For example, our EHS performance is enhanced through the use of a state-of-the-art thermal oxidizer in our primary processing furnace.  This results in the virtually complete thermal destruction of any residual alcohols, ammines or other volatile organic compounds in the material that we are processing.
