Electronics Recycling Service, Inc. (DBA Green E-Waste Recycling Center) is a California State approved, EPA compliant and DTSC (Department of Toxic and Substances Control) registered full service electronic waste recycling company. We offer 100% FREE electronic waste recycling services for the entire Bay Area.

Green Ewaste Recycling Center was established in 2005 by industry veterans in order to provide client companies with one vendor for all their IT Asset Management needs. Since its start, every year we have diverted 10 million pounds of e-waste and metal scrap from landfills.

We reduce and reuse before recycle. Our primary goal is to reuse as much as possible for the electronics and computers we collect. We do this by placing some working equipment at schools and non-profits. Other items are sold at a fraction of the cost of retail price to individuals who can’t afford to buy brand-new electronics. Obsolete and broken equipment are broken down and sold to various local recycling companies. For example, our metals and wires are sold to SIMS Metals. Our PCBs or circuit boards are refined for precious metals at J&B Enterprises. The CRT materials such as monitors and televisions that we collect are transferred to State Certified Recyclers that disassemble and process the lead and mercury from the glass. Just about all the raw materials are sold to large manufacturers.

FREE E-Waste Drop Off

We are located at 2127 Monterey Hwy, San Jose, CA 95112, 100 feet north of The Plant Shopping Center, between the Home Tile & Cabinet Store and Club Chicago.

Open Mon-Fri 9am to 5pm, Sat 10am – 2pm. For free e-waste drop off there is no need to make an appointment, just drive in and our staff will help you to unload.

We accept most electronic items in any condition free of charge that can plug into outlets or run on batteries, except light bulbs, alkaline batteries, smoke detectors, mercury filled thermostats and VHS tapes.

We also take scrap metal and appliances such as washers, dryers, and dishwashers; fuel powered equipment must be free of gas and oil.

To recycle Computer CRT Monitors, TVs, and Flat Screen Monitors for FREE, you must declare that the equipment is California purchased and used in California. To make this declaration, you must provide your name and a California physical address (P.O. Boxes not acceptable) on a State of California form CIWMB 198. Since the recycling of these items is funded by the State tax, the State has to ensure that it only funds recycling to California residents and businesses.
