Plastic piping systems are sustainable and environmentally smart!

Plastic piping systems are a sustainable and environmentally responsible choice that will serve generations to come. They are energy efficient during manufacturing and provide peak protection from contamination during service. Strong, durable, light-weight and flexible, these piping systems require significantly less energy to fabricate, transport and install than metal or concrete alternatives. With superior resistance to corrosion and abrasion, plastic piping systems also supply long service life, excellent joint performance and offer leak free protection-all adding up to exceptional value.

Better Piping Solutions

Plastic pipe delivers exceptional value, unwavering reliability and remarkable advantages over conventional types of piping. It's today's right choice for water service, drainage, fuel gas, conduit and plumbing & heating. Other reasons plastic pipes are a superior choice:

  • Long-term service life
  • Highly-resistant to corrosion, abrasion and chemicals
  • Strong, durable, flexible and lightweight
  • Longer-length pipe with leak-proof joints
  • Lower labor requirements for installations
  • Significant overall cost savings

HSB LISTING PROGRAM

HYDROSTATIC STRESS BOARD: The primary functions of the Hydrostatic Stress Board (HSB) of PPI are to issue recommendations to industry regarding the strength of thermoplastic piping materials intended for pressure applications, and to develop appropriate policies and procedures for the conduct of this activity. Since 1958, the HSB has worked as a volunteer group under PPI's auspices to define appropriate test procedures and issue recommendations for long-term strength. The HSB's recommendations are often referenced by North American plastics piping standards for the qualifying of thermoplastic piping materials for pressure piping service, and for the establishment of pipe pressure ratings.
