History

Aquaflow was started in 1972 when Henry King and George Tokash left Delaware plumbing supply where they were employed for many years to start out on their own. After leasing a small run down gas station on route 40 in Bear Delaware they started meeting with Vendors and selecting products and calling on customers to try and establish a future for his family. They decided they would focus primarily on well drillers, plumbers and septic professionals who could see value in what he had to offer.

It wasn’t too many years later Henry purchased the building and land next to the gas station and expanded his business into that 8,000 sq. foot building . 12 years later he would build yet another 10,000 sq. ft. addition to that building which still operates as their central headquarters today.

From the very start Henry III and Edward (Mr. Kings sons) began to work at the company. From that point forward they learned all they could from the ground up . Both Henry III and Edward now hold key management positions that oversee the company’s operations. Henry Sr. ( more active than ever)stays focused on the inner operations and purchasing side of the business . Together as a team they decide the company’s direction in the same office where it all started so many years ago.

In 1989 Aquaflow purchased its first store in Glenside Pa, called PUMPS Inc. In 1991 they opened in Harrington Delaware. In 1996 in Reading Pa. and now just recently Aquaflow purchased the Superior Pumps company near Pittsburg Pa. in 2009 which operates three stores in Bedford , Greensburg and Shippenville Pa. Still the same family owned business Mr. King now 80 , and his sons continue to focus on the customers exactly as they did when he started the company back in 1972.
