A Valve Manufacturing Company

Flomatic® Corporation located in Glens Falls, upstate New York, is a manufacturer of high quality valves primarily for domestic and municipal water and wastewater applications. Forrest S. White founded the company in 1933 in Hoosick Falls, New York (40 miles north east of Albany) as the White Flomatic® Corporation. At that time, the main products that the valve company manufactured were bronze check valves, regulators and hot water circulators for industrial and domestic heating. Wilbur C. Rice became the president in 1962, at which time a program to modernize the plant and machinery began and the focus turned strictly to water and wastewater valves.

International Valve Manufacturer

Flomatic® expanded internationally in 1975 by joining forces with Socla, a French valve company well respected throughout Europe. In 1979, Bo Andersson, currently the President and Chairman of the Board of Flomatic® Corporation, assumed the leadership role and has continued the traditions of high quality, innovation and industry leadership for which Flomatic® is known. Introduction of automatic control valves and backflow preventers were made, both designed and manufactured by Flomatic.

The Company’s position in the worldwide market was further improved in 1992 when it introduced the first unleaded bronze valves, the ENVIRO CHECK® .

Today Flomatic® specializes in check valves, foot valves, automatic hydraulic control valves and backflow preventers directed at the domestic, industrial, municipal and irrigation markets. Our valves are used in the heartland of rural America to large municipal water valves from coast to coast, Boston and New York City to the City of Los Angeles. Flomatic®continues to operate as a technology company leading the industry with new and innovative products covered by several patents and trademarks to meet the ever-expanding needs of its customers in over 40 different countries. Air Release valve

Air Release Valves, or Air Relief Valve function to release air pockets that collect at each high point of a full pressured pipeline. An air release valve can open against internal pressure, because the internal lever mechanism multiplies the float force to be greater than the internal pressure. This greater force opens the orifice whenever air pockets collect in the valve. Air Release Valves are essential for pipeline efficiency and water hammer protection.

Vacuum Valves

A Vacuum Valve, or Air Vacuum Valve is a safety valve opening inward to admit air to a vessel in which the pressure is less than that of the atmosphere, in order to prevent collapse.
