Multiform Harvest Inc
2033 Sixth Avenue , Suite 253 , Seattle, United States | Energy
Multiform Harvest Inc. is a private company based in Seattle, Washington, which has developed a patented technology that recovers excess phosphorus and nitrogen from wastewater and converts it into a premium, slow-release fertilizer.
The technology allows wastewater treatment plants to meet nutrient discharge limits more cost-effectively than other technologies, and provides a sustainable, domestic supply of a diminishing world resource – phosphorus.
Management
Multiform Harvest is staffed by a highly qualified team that brings you years of experience in delivering customer-focused solutions. Our team has a proven track record focused on meeting its clients' needs.
Multiform Harvest is here to provide you, our respected clients, with the best technology at the lowest cost, and to deliver it with friendly hassle-free honesty.
Environmental Benefits
- Enabling wastewater treatment plants to comply with nutrient discharge regulations in an environmentally sustainable way.
- Minimizing the risks of algal blooms and damage to ecosystems caused by conventional fertilizer runoff from agricultural land.
- Providing a sustainable and domestic supply of premium slow-release phosphorus and magnesium fertilizer.
- Helping to promote sustainable local agriculture and food security.
- Enabling the adoption of anaerobic digesters and therefore promoting the generation of bioenergy to reduce GHG emissions.
Multiform Harvest is the right technology at the right time to deal with these environmental challenges.
Technology
The Multiform™ technology can be easily integrated into the existing plant infrastructure and is able to reduce phosphorus levels in wastewater by over 80%, and nitrogen levels by up to 20%.
MultiWAS™
MultiWAS™ is a group of technologies offered by Multiform Harvest Inc. (Multiform™) for integrating two processes into the side streams of wastewater treatment plants. One of the two processes – struvite crystallization – is also a technology developed by and offered by Multiform™.
The other process – stripping and release of phosphorus (P) from waste-activated sludge (WAS) – has been well documented in literature devoted to the wastewater industry, beginning in the 1960s or earlier – and is thus publically available for use. The MultiWAS™ technologies include multiple options for integrating these processes, including:
- Struvite crystallization from the P-release separated liquid stream and also, separately, from digestate supernate;
- Struvite crystallization from the P-release stream, with all or part of the digestate supernate directed into the P-release liquid pre-solids separation; and
- Struvite crystallization from P-release liquid supplemented with digestate supernate that has itself already been treated in a separate struvite crystallizer. There are several other options.
Each option has its own advantages, and a wastewater plant may choose any option or combination of options to best suit its own circumstances.
Applications
Multiform Harvest technology can be used in a number of applications where wastewater contains excessive levels of phosphorus and ammonia – such as, municipal wastewater treatment plants, swine and dairy operations, and food processing facilities.
