New Sky Energy is an award-winning clean chemistry company based in Boulder, Colorado. New Sky's innovative SaltCycle, CarbonCycle andSulfurCycle technologies convert common industrial waste streams like waste brines, CO2 and sour gas into valuable clean chemicals. We work with some of the world’s largest energy and manufacturing companies to help them profitably convert troublesome industrial wastes into clean chemicals and clean water.

Our Business Model: New Sky Energy designs, manufactures, and operates systems that convert waste brines, salts, hydrogen sulfide, and carbon dioxide into valuable chemicals. We supply our patented SaltCycleand CarbonCycle technologies and patent pending SulfurCycletechnologies to customers in the energy, manufacturing and agricultural industries. We provide engineering services, pilot testing, equipment sales, turn-key delivery of build-own-operate plants, and operating and maintenance services.

New Sky offers three waste recycling platforms with applications across multiple industries:

• SaltCycle: converts salts and waste brines into acid and base
• CarbonCycle: converts CO2 and waste brines into carbonates
• SulfurCycle: a low cost, closed cycle gas sweetening process that converts sour natural gas into sweet gas and sulfur-based products

• Oil & Gas: gas sweetening; produced water treatment; onsite, on-demand chemical production

Products and Services

New Sky's SaltCycle, CarbonCycle and SulfurCycle equipment systems are designed to provide years of reliable, low cost, and even profitable operation. New Sky incorporates widely used industrial technologies including gas scrubbing, electrochemistry and salt crystallization, into all New Sky chemical recycling applications. By relying on industrially proven technologies as the core of our technical innovations we minimize technical risk and reduce capital and operating costs. The sale or use of clean chemicals produced onsite by these systems subsidizes water treatment options while reducing or eliminating waste disposal costs.

New Sky's SaltCycle, CarbonCycle and SulfurCycle consulting and support services include engineering, installation and R&D; field demonstrations; and system technical and maintenance support. Depending on client needs, New Sky will lease or build-own-operate its system onsite.

SaltCycle

New Sky's SaltCycle systems convert waste industrial and agricultural brines into useful acid, base and other chemicals. SaltCycle provides a low cost, and potentially profitable alternative to expensive treatment or disposal of produced water from oil and gas operations, agricultural or industrial brines, or reverse osmosis / desalination brines. SaltCycle offers dramatic advantages over conventional water treatment, desalination or disposal options. Wastewater concentration and salt precipitation dramatically reduce wastewater disposal costs, while sales of hydrochloric acid or sulfuric acid, caustic soda, soda ash and bicarbonate generate new revenues and profits and pay for upstream water treatment costs.

CarbonCycle

New Sky's CarbonCycle systems use a patented process to capture CO2 from fermenter or flue gas and convert the CO2 into soda ash, bicarbonate and other carbonates. Carbonates are safe, mineralized forms of CO2, and include important industrial chemicals such as soda ash, baking soda, and limestone. They are used in manufacturing, food production, water purification, and many other uses. In Boulder, Colorado, New Sky is working with Avery Brewing to capture CO2 from brewery operations and convert it into soda ash used to manufacture Avery's beer bottles.
