Hahn Machinery, Inc

PO Box 220, Two Harbors, Minnesota, United States | Machinery Recycling

Introduced in the mid-sixties, the Hahn Harvester was the first roadside processor to hit the North American market. Designed by logging contractor, Ray Hahn, the machine was simple, affordable and productive and, when combined with a grapple skidder and feller buncher, made logging operations much safer because nobody was on the ground!

Since those days, Hahn machinery has expanded its line of forestry equipment to include shortwood processors, tree length processors, slasher merchandisers, single grip harvesters and firewood processors. Now, there are Hahn Harvesters suitable for hardwood logging as well as softwood and for thinning operations as well as final cuts. The machines are simple, rugged, and economical to own and operate and will continue to produce long after the last payment has been made.

With nearly 40 years of experience, Hahn Machinery is a leader in the development of “common sense” forestry machinery and continues to upgrade and expand its model line to suit the needs of the ever-changing forest industry.

The Hahn HFP150Compact is the latest addition to the Hahn line of firewood processing attachments for skid loaders, compact track and wheel loaders, and excavators.

The Hahn HFP160 Firewood Pro is an attachment that turns your skid steer loader, compact track or wheel loader, or excavator into a full function, high production, firewood processor.

The Hahn HFP160 Firewood Pro is an attachment that turns your skid steer loader, compact track or wheel loader, or excavator into a full function, high production, firewood processor. When installed on a suitably equipped carrier, the HFP160 can pick up a log off the ground or deck, cut the log into lengths up to 20” (optional 28”), and split those lengths into 4, 6, or 8 pieces of firewood. Furthermore, since the processor is mobile, the wood can be deposited on the ground or directly into trucks, trailers, bins or onto a conveyor.

The HFP160 requires only one operator and one machine so, when compared to conventional firewood processing systems, production costs are dramatically reduced and, since all functions are performed from the operator’s cab, job safety is greatly enhanced.

The Hahn HSG140 and HSG160 Harvester Heads are designed to provide logging contractors and land owners an economical, cost effective means for harvesting small diameter timber and plantation thinning. When installed on a suitable carrier, the HSG series harvester heads can cut a tree off the stump, lay it down, remove the limbs, measure the stem, and cut it into log lengths determined by the operator.

Due to its compact size and low hydraulic requirements, the HSG series harvester heads are ideally suited to most small to midsize, zero tail swing, excavators in the 55hp to 85 hp range. Machines of this type can operate in narrow rows and tighter spacing and reduce the risk of damage to the remaining trees.
