National Design Consultancy provides a wide range of services, assisting our clients in all aspects of Building Engineering Services.  Our North and South Design Centres have the depth and diversity of expertise needed to tackle any engineering project with confidence.

Project Teams

The staff in our Design Centres work together in teams and use their complimentary skill sets to support each project through to completion.  Our staff are all professionally qualified and undertake regular update workshops and seminars to keep them abreast of changes in legislation and technology.  They have the knowledge and experience required to design successful and high quality buildings of all types and ensure that the construction process is monitored right through to completion.

The Environment and Sustainability

In 2009 buildings accounted for about 43% of all the UK’s carbon emissions, of which 20% can be attributed to non-domestic buildings.  Reducing the impact that new and refurbished buildings have on the environment, without compromising on performance, is becoming increasingly important and is a key factor for our teams when commencing a project.

Our expertise, knowledge of relevant legislation and practical experience enables us to provide assessments covering a wide range of requirements and advice regarding energy saving solutions.  We aim to create sustainable developments; buildings that have a better environmental performance in terms of energy consumption and waste of fundamental services.

At National Design Consultancy, we have a team of experts in the field of environmental engineering that are dedicated to providing innovative solutions which respond to the unique challenges found in each project.  We advise on mechanical, electrical, infrastructure, construction and design issues, providing solutions to help clients to develop both brown and green sites to their full potential.

Estates and Facilities Consultancy

We have a specialist Estates and Facilities Group in each Design Centre to assist our clients with management and operation of their buildings, ensuring that appropriate systems and procedures are in place to achieve optimum performance and reliability.  We have extensive experience in assessing building risk and building stock condition, and providing guidance for remedial actions or refurbishment.

BIM: Building Information Modelling

BIM (Building Information Modelling) is an intelligent model-based design process that provides insight to help plan, design, construct, and manage buildings.  NDC’s chosen BIM software is Revit combined with TAS and Cymap and is available in all of our Design Centres.  Engineers and technicians have undertaken extensive training to operate these applications and utilise them on projects.
