US Light Energy

830 New Loudon Road, Latham, United States | Energy

Founded in 2009, US Light Energy (USLE) designs, installs, and operates a large portfolio of high performance solar arrays throughout the North Eastern United States. Targeted at the commercial client, USLE installs its solar arrays without any capital requirement from the client. Instead, USLE sells the electricity produced by the solar array to the clients utilizing a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA).

A PPA is a financial arrangement in which USLE owns, operates, and maintains the photovoltaic (PV) system, and the client agrees to site the system on their roof (Roof Mount) or elsewhere on their property (Ground Mount), and purchases the solar array's electric output fromUSLE. The PPA allows the client to receive high quality, clean, electricity for a contracted period of time. Typically, the electricity delivered by the solar array is less expensive than the electricity purchased from the client's local utility and is fixed during the duration of the PPA,; which removes the pricing fluctuations commonly seen from utilities.

Customer Benefits Include:

  • No upfront capital cost
  • Electric bill savings & electricity pricing stability
  • No system performance or operating responsibilities
  • Structural and Electrical Analysis of site prior to installation
  • No roof penetration
  • No business interruption
  • LEED Certification points with solar installation
  • Potential for increase in property value
  • Visibly demonstrable environmental commitment

OUR SOLAR PANELS

At USLE the Kyocera solar panel is the only panel used. In 1985 Kyocera installed over 1,000 modules on their Sakura facility in Japan. The long term data resulting from this field trial indicates that the Kyoera panels have the industry best 20 year performance degradation. The degradation as measured in Sakura is limited to approximately eight (8) percent over 20 years. This was compared to the industry standard annual performance degradation of 1 percent. The result is that in the 20th year a 245 watt Kyocera module will perform approximately as a 225.4 watt panel while other manufacturer's panels will produce approximately as a 196 watt panel.
