ABOUT OZONIA
Although OZONIA was founded in 1990 it has more than 35 years of experience in developing, designing, manufacturing and installing treatment systems due to its ABB Asea Brown Boveri and Degrémont roots back in the 70s. OZONIA is owned by Degrémont which took over the ozone and UV business activities and professionals from ABB. OZONIA’s products are available worldwide through 9 affiliates located in Zurich (Headquarters, Switzerland), New York (USA), Glasgow (Scotland) , Paris (France), Nizhny Novgorod (Russia), Beijing and Tianjin (China), Seoul (Korea) and Tokyo (Japan). In addition to these wholly owned affiliates OZONIA has a network of Resellers and Original Equipment Manufacturers all over the world.
OZONIA has developed the most efficient ozone and ultraviolet generating technologies available today, and is ranked as one of the world’s leading suppliers for this type of equipment. OZONIA can draw on extensive knowledge relating to both ozone and ultraviolet application technology and, because of this expertise, has built-up a unique ability to deliver complete systems which ensure economical operation as well as the highest operational and personal safety.
OZONIA’s aim is to design each plant in close co-operation with the client to suit the application and site conditions. This high level of flexibility is achieved through the implementation of fully engineered standardized equipment in conjunction with a wealth of experience.
OZONE PRODUCTS
Ozone
As a world leader in ozone disinfection treatment, Ozonia designs and manufactures ozone generators incorporating the most sophisticated electronics technology available. Offering wide-range of ozone generators from the laboratory scale to the largest ozone systems in the world. All Ozonia ozone systems have a variety of technical features developed to simplify installation and allow minimal operator attention and maintenance.
Ozone has been used by municipal bodies for many years to improve the aesthetic qualities of water and for its germicidal action. It is an accepted fact that drinking water is disinfected when a residual ozone level of 0.4 mg/l has been maintained for a period of 4 minutes. Ozone has many additional benefits in the drinking water process:
- In preozonation, ozone improves clarification, limits the formation of haloform precursors, reduces iron and manganese and promotes the destruction of micro-organisms such as algae.
- Main ozonation treatment breaks down trace contaminants and enhances the biodegradability of organic substances which are then removed in a biological treatment step.
- Finally, combined treatment steps involving ozone and activated carbon or ozone and peroxide are currently the most powerful means available to water process engineers for the removal of contaminants and constitute a vital safeguard against contamination entering a drinking water system.
PROCESS APPLICATIONS
Countless Applications in Numerous Markets
Ozone, UV and AOP based processes are today already used in numerous applications. For instance, drinking water treatment with ozone has been applied for decades providing us with well tasting, colorless crystal clear water. In the last decades ozone , UV and AOP based processes have become a solution for more complex processes also, for example for waste water treatment, the food industry or for soil remediation processes. All these processes have in common that typically the client benefits from more than one effect that makes the processes more and more attractive. Besides the well known use in water treatment applications ozone is also applied in lesser known applications such as pulp bleaching, chemical synthesis and flue gas cleaning.
INNOVATION
Recognized globally as a leader in water and wastewater treatment, innovation is a vital component of Ozonia's expertise. Around the world, Ozonia invests heavily in research and development to bring the most innovative in ozone and UV technologies to market.
The Ozonia continues this strong commitment to value creation with focused programs across its organization with an emphasis on project collaboration to ensure rapid and efficient transfer of new technologies on a global basis.
Ozonia Triplex Ozone Vessel
By integrating operational data from a fully automated ozone generator test stand with mathematical modeling results, Ozonia researchers are able to determine an ozone generator's performance efficiency under a wide range of operating conditions such as feed gas pressure, cooling water temperature, etc. The Triplex vessel ozone test stand incorporates state of the art ozone monitoring instrumentation including a UV spectrophotometer for measuring ozone concentration and an IR-spectrophotometer for gas composition analysis.
Ozonia Intelligent Gap System
Ozonia's newly developed IGS™ dielectric technology is expected to revolutionize the industrial ozone generation field — a critical milestone as ozone is increasingly applied in advanced wastewater treatment applications for control of micropollutants such as endocrine disrupting compounds and pharmaceutical wastes. One key advantage of the IGS dielectric technology is the significant reduction in power consumption to produce the equivalent weight percent of ozone as compared to conventional designs.
Ozonia Aquaray UV Systems
Increasing environmental awareness and the growing market for wastewater reuse has accelerated the implementation of UV Disinfection. The Aquaray® 3X technology combines the use of LP Amalgam lamps (160W UVC) and a patented vertical lamp reactor design to deliver maximum disinfection capacity with significantly fewer lamps and a compact plant footprint. A novel flow pacing controls feature supports variable lamp output and row-by-row operation to allow optimized disinfection while maximizing energy savings. As a “green” alternative to the use of chlorine, the Aquaray® 3X has already generated real financial gains for users. In 2006, it was awarded the Frost & Sullivan award for Technology Innovation of the Year in the US Water and Wastewater treatment category.
