IMPCO Technologies, Inc. has been in business for over fifty years, opening its first facility in 1958.

At IMPCO, we develop, manufacture and market products that enable internal combustion engines to operate on less expensive, cleaner burning fuel which promotes both energy independence and a cleaner environment.

Our products, and just as important, our integration expertise, enable Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and our distributors to satisfy both customer specifications and government emissions regulations for application in the transportation, industrial, lawn & garden, large stationary, small engine and power generation markets.

IMPCO Technologies, Inc., a subsidiary of Fuel Systems Solutions, Inc. and a sister company to BRC Gas Equipment, is the world leader in the manufacturing and marketing of advanced products and systems that allow transportation, industrial, lawn & garden, large stationary and power generation internal combustion engines to operate on clean burning, gaseous fuels.

Our company, headquartered in the United States, participates in the established and rapidly growing alternative fuels industry which is being driven by the global need for cleaner air, less expensive fuel and energy independence.

Together with BRC, we have a multitude of worldwide divisions and a vast distribution network that enables our products and services to reach all corners of the globe.

IMPCO's research and development capabilities represent state of the art in the industrial alternative fuels market. Spread over two North American facilities, one in California and one in Michigan, IMPCO maintains a multidisciplinary team, covering all aspects of R&D from core component design, through in house testing, and creation of OEM service documentation.

IMPCO's in house testing capabilities range from simple component testing machines such as thermal chambers, up to world-class full engine transient EPA and CARB emissions approved test cells.

At the design end, IMPCO's team of engineers use 3D modelling for all component designs, along with direct in house access to mechanical FEA and CFD tools for design analysis, and on site rapid prototyping capabilities to ensure the highest levels of customer support within a design approved ISO9000:2000 support framework.

IMPCO (an acronym from its original name Imperial Machine Products Company) was founded in 1958 by Herbert V. Hills and Richard Baverstock in a small Quonset hut in South Gate, California.

The company was born out of the need for faster and more energy efficient car and speed boat racing. The first product developed and sold was the CA300A carburetor, known as the 'IMPERIAL', which is still sold today.

In 1967, the company was moved to Cerritos and became a wholly owned subsidiary of AJ Industries (Alaska Juneau Mining Company). IMPCO purchased BEAM Products Company in 1986, Garretson Equipment Company in 1997, J & S Products and Algas Carburetion in 1998. Along the way, several of IMPCO's distributors, such as Technisch Bureau Media in The Netherlands, Mikuni in Japan and Ateco PTY in Australia were purchased, becoming global affiliate locations.

The company’s name was changed to IMPCO Technologies, Inc. in the early 1990's. In 2005, IMPCO merged with BRC Gas Equipment, and in 2006, a holding company called Fuel Systems Solutions (FSS) was created to umbrella both companies. Also, in 2006, IMPCO moved to a new state of the art facility in Santa Ana, California.

IMPCO has grown to become a truly global business with offices, distributors and customers in every major continent in the world. With our patented Spectrum Fuel Management Industrial Systems, our state of the art Multi-Point Sequential Gaseous Phase Injection Automotive Systems, our Certified Industrial Engines Packages, in addition to our traditional gaseous fuel carburetion components, IMPCO Technologies, Inc. is poised for unprecedented growth and we are very excited about the future.
