OUR HEALTH AND SAFETY POLICY
This policy applies to all Tervita operations wherever they are carried out and is reviewed, and if necessary revised, on an annual basis.
Tervita will conduct its business in a manner that protects the health and safety of employees and others involved in its operations, including customers, contractors and the public. Tervita will strive to prevent all incidents, injuries and occupational illnesses through the active participation of every employee.

Tervita is committed to continuous improvement in both our performance and management of health and safety and will deliver this through:
- Providing proper resources to achieve an injury and incident-free workplace
- Ensuring that personnel are trained and competent to carry out their activities
- Complying with all applicable legislative and industry requirements pertaining to health and safety, as a minimum standard
- Setting and monitoring clear health and safety performance objectives that encompass both leading and lagging measures
- Ensuring that all health and safety risks arising from work activities are identified and adequately controlled

Our organization is governed by three main bodies carefully structured to drive a culture of accountability:
SENIOR LEADERSHIP
- Consists of five leaders to provide leadership and develop management systems
BOARD OF DIRECTORS
- Consists of nine directors, whereof three are independent and the chair is not independent of management.
- Responsible for providing strategic guidance on our direction and business practices, in alignment with long-term shareholder interests.
BOARD COMMITTEES
- Consists of four committees that oversee and collaborate with leaders in the development and review of corporate policies and practices, such as auditing, human resources and compensation, governance and nominating, environment, as well as health and safety.
