We understand the demand for a high efficient and reliable Rotary UPS systems and On-Site power systems in the market today. This understanding has driven us to design and deliver cost effective solutions for customers who view continuous, reliable and efficient power as a requirement rather an advantage.
About IEM
Industrial Electric Manufacturing™ (IEM) is the largest independent full-line manufacturer of electrical distribution and power quality equipment in the U.S. The Company has developed one of the most sophisticated electrical product manufacturing systems in the world and has cultivated partnerships with leading component suppliers resulting in optimal solutions to customer problems
Tradition. Technology. Innovation.
For over 60 years, IEM has delivered innovative electrical distribution products to meet the escalating needs of growth industries. Based in the heart of Silicon Valley, IEM has been solving power distribution challenges for Hewlett-Packard, Apple, and dozens of high tech pioneers since they were start-ups. These companies realized that IEM products were equal to any the multi-nationals could offer and that a faster, more flexible manufacturing system could provide them with the electrical equipment they needed in time to meet their demanding power requirements.
Today, IEM has expanded beyond Silicon Valley to supply specialized electrical equipment throughout the U.S. and Canada. Responsiveness, engineering and quality remain the key to maintaining a loyal group of satisfied customers. At IEM, tradition and technology still drive innovation.

Rotabloc System Maintenance
The Rotabloc system is inherently simple in its design maximizing reliability and minimizing the maintenance requirements – particularly where AutoLube systems are specified.
IEMPS insist on the highest possible standards and we guarantee to provide dependable routine and responsive non-routine maintenance for your UPS system. Our engineers will work closely with you to provide high levels of on-going support for your facility. Our global team provides the Rotabloc System with professional engineering with world-wide reach. We will be happy to discuss the maintenance requirements for your project and develop a tailored program for you.
Rotabloc is an Electrically Coupled Diesel
Rotary UPS System made in the U.S. and Europe.
Rotabloc is unique in that we build fully integrated UPS systems and this approach lowers cost, reduces risk and improves reliability.
The Rotabloc Module
- Rotabloc provides a range of power ratings for individual modules from 400 – 1600 kW. This is integrated with IEM Switchgear and an independent Diesel Generator. Rotabloc Systems can be configured into Low and Medium Voltage installations up to 40MW+.
- The Diesel can be operated independent of the Rotabloc (RB). Concurrent maintainability helps support tier 3+ Data Center applications.
- Rotabloc Integration and Control System operates and manages the UPS, Switchgear, and Diesel Gen-set, providing an interface with your building management systems giving real time control, monitoring, and reporting.
System Overview
Our CHP energy plants are mass-customized and modular, assembled in a factory controlled environment, and delivered to the customer’s site ready to connect and operate. They enable customers to quickly benefit from the cost, emissions and risk reduction, and the efficiency and reliability of on-site generation.
Traditional CHP installations are custom engineered and integrated into the customer’s existing buildings, requiring extensive on-site construction work and modification to the customer’s buildings and infrastructure, rendering the installation a permanent part of the customer’s physical plant.
Traditional CHP plant design and cost estimating are custom for each customer, taking 3 to 6 months to complete at higher engineering cost, versus 30 days and significantly less engineering cost for a Genplant energy plant. Custom plants require extensive on-site construction work that adds to the total project cost. From initial design to final installation, a custom plant can take 18 months or more.
Genplant energy plants are designed and built from a library of pre-engineered templates to quickly design and price plants for the customer’s specific energy needs. From a few pre-engineered templates, a vast range of requirements can be met in a still standardized final product. The customer’s needs in electric, cooling and heating are input into Genplant’s configurator, and a design and price are produced within hours.
Modifications to the customer’s physical plant and infrastructure are minimal – the Genplant is bolted to a concrete or steel work foundation (specified by Genplant) and final connections (also pre-specified) are made to the relevant gas, electric, water, steam, hot water, and/or chilled water systems at the site. Installation and commissioning can be completed in a matter of weeks.
Because of their standardized modular design, and the use of industry standard and commonly available components (Gensets, chillers, pumps, controls, etc.) Genplant energy plants can be supported through existing support services.
