Recent corporate highlights include leading the effort to revive curbside recycling in NYC in 2003 and processing most of the scrap metal from the WTC after 9/11. In 2005, Hugo Neu merged its recycling businesses with the Sims Group, a merger in which Sims became the world's largest recycling company globally and Hugo Neu became its largest shareholder. In 2007, Hugo Neu sold most of its shares in Sims.Hugo Neu is now bringing its wealth of experience to two ventures: Hugo Neu Recycling, an innovative New York City area electronic recycling company, and Hugo Neu Americas, which is developing an $80 million, state-of-the-art recycling facility in Puerto Rico.Hugo Neu, through subsidiaries, has been one of the nation's largest value-added developers of industrial real estate. Over the past 35 years, Hugo Neu has developed more than 9 million square feet of industrial properties in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and California.
