Aslan Technologies is a design and manufacturing company serving the chemical, water and wastewater treatment industries.
Since 1992, Aslan has grown its Engineering, Project Management and Manufacturing capabilities to find the right solution to a problem and deliver that solution on time and on budget.
Aslan has developed these capabilities by serving the world's largest specialty chemical manufacturer's as an OEM manufacturer. In this demanding role, Aslan has gained experience in providing both standard and custom equipment to a wide variety of market sectors - worldwide.
Worldwide, manufacturers must comply with wastewater regulations and often have to spend millions of dollars transporting wastewater for treatment. Aslan can help you eliminate the money you spend on wastewater transportation and disposal fees by building in treatment at the source, allowing you to safely discharge process water in compliance with local regulations.
Utilizing our complete system design approach, Aslan has been listed by the US State Department as a preferred supplier for the water treatment equipment for their embassy complexes all over the world.
Demonstrating Aslan's abilities to integrate design, manufacturing and project management we also design and construct Drinking and Waste Water Treatment Facilities, and the related support structures, serving small residential communities. Not only did these systems include the standard water treatment equipment but Aslan was responsible for the entire project including, specification development, earth works, piping and all structures.'One-stop-shopping', with no finger pointing!
As a licensed electrical contractor, Aslan Technologies has a strong working knowledge of UL, CSA, CE and other international requirements. With our in-house panel production, Aslan ensures the entire system is certified by 3rd party inspection, not just the panel.
Our process expertise ensures the proper integration of a whole system, not just an assembly of individual components. We not only know how to connect the parts, we know why the parts are needed and to make them work together as intended. By encompassing Engineering, Project Management, Fabrication, Electrical, Electronics and Product Development along with our process expertise under one roof, you can be assured that our motto of ‘Innovate – Design – Build’ is an every day reality at Aslan Technologies.
Water Treatment Systems
From strongly constructed, reliable tank level sensors to complete water treatment systems capable of handling drinking water requirements from over 1000 homes, Aslan has solutions for your water storage and distribution problems.
Aslan can also design complete potable water treatment systems for communities consisting of hundreds of homes or cottages. These systems feature conventional package filtration plants that utilize coagulation, flocculation, sedimentation and filtration as the primary treatment method. Additional treatment methods can be included such as pH and alkalinity adjustment, primary disinfection and flouridation.
Nitrates are most often by products of fertilizer use, and can build up in soils and percolate down into drinking water aquifers. Other potential sources of nitrate contamination include quarries where explosives are routinely used. Another source can be untreated human sewage. Nitrates may build up to such a level that they become a hazard to the health of children under the age of 3 months as well as a hazard to pregnant women. The biggest concern is the development of Blue Baby Syndrome which can be fatal.
One difficulty with Nitrates is that they trickle down and build up slowly. Once detected in a well or an aquifer, they can be expected to contaminate the water for many years to come. Even if measures have already been started to control their release on the surface.
To facilitate Nitrate removal, Aslan uses a variety of methods, depending on the amount of removal required. For a local well, with relatively low flow rates, a softener type application may be all that is required. This would be a modified version of a typical water softener, with a special resin engineered to remove nitrates. Filters to keep calcium carbonate out of the system would be required and a UV water disinfection system at the discharge.
For larger systems RO membranes are used to achieve economical removal of nitrates. These systems can be configured for different flows simply by adding or subtracting membranes. There is also comparatively low maintenance consisting mainly of scheduled membrane changes and system cleaning.
To meet Nitrate reduction standards in the USA, the EPA mandates removal down to 10mg/liter. Around the world, reductions down to 40mg/liter may be acceptable especially in areas where existing Nitrate concentrations may exceed 180mg/liter.
