Environmental Management Associates, LLC (EMA) is a multi-disciplined environmental consulting company with extensive experience throughout the United States. EMA offers a complete range of cost-effective consulting services specializing in environmental assessments, site investigations and remediation, regulatory compliance, hazardous and solid waste management, compliance monitoring, and industrial hygiene.
EMA's client base consists of municipalities, corporations, and other engineering and environmental consultants. Our philosophy in maintaining low overhead allows us to provide specialized services at rates which are typically less than the industry average.
Our staff includes registered Professional Geologists, Engineers, Chemists, Biologists, Certified Hazardous Materials Managers, and Certified Industrial Hygienists. The EMA team has a combined 50 years' experience in diverse regulatory areas including CERCLA, RCRA, HSRA, NPDES, and OSHA.
EMA is a privately owned firm with Principals active in the daily technical management of client projects. Every project undertaken by EMA is assigned to one of the company's Principals. One of the greatest strengths in our small size is that our Principals are involved in all aspects of a project ~ from field investigation to report preparation. Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) / Compliance Audits
EMA's staff of environmental professionals has conducted all phases of environmental site assessments (Phase I and II), property audits, and OSHA and multi-media compliance audits for our industrial, academic, and commercial clients for the past 25 years. Our environmental and OSHA assessment specialists are knowledgeable and experienced with all applicable laws and regulations.
Site Investigation, Evaluation, and Reporting
EMA has conducted numerous environmental site investigations, evaluations, and reporting for commercial and industrial sites throughout the U.S. Many of these projects have involved complex soil, sediment, surface water, and groundwater investigations at RCRA and Superfund sites to determine the nature and extent of contamination, cleanup standards, and the most cost-effective remedial alternative. Our project managers have current knowledge of all federal and state environmental laws and regulations.
Site Remediation
EMA's Professional Geologists, chemists, and engineers have extensive experience in the design and management of environmental remediation programs. EMA conducts Feasibility Studies to determine the most efficient and cost-effective remedial alternative for each project. Our knowledge of innovative and proven technologies reduces our client's remediation costs.
Underground/Aboveground Storage Tank Investigations and Removals
EMA's team of professionals has been responsible for managing over 200 UST-related projects. EMA's Professional Geologists and chemist each have over 20 years of petroleum contamination assessment experience.
Hazardous and Solid Waste Management
EMA's chemists and Certified Hazardous Materials Manager have managed all aspects of hazardous and solid waste related projects. EMA personnel have been involved with the characterization, treatment, and disposal at abandoned drum sites, Superfund sites, and industrial waste disposal sites (RCRA SWMUs). EMA is also providing groundwater monitoring and reporting services to 12 different municipal solid waste landfills and land application sites in the state of Georgia and Alabama.
Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans/NPDES Permits/Watershed Assessments
EMA has developed numerous Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWP3s) and NPDES Permits for our industrial clients. EMA's has also conducted several Watershed Assessments and developed Watershed Protection Plans for local municipalities within the state of Georgia.
Wastewater Services
EMA offers cost-effective services for the management of wastewater treatment facilities by our certified wastewater operator and chemist. Services range from complete operation and maintenance of the system, system design and installation, and discharge monitoring and reporting.
Indoor Air Quality/Industrial Hygiene
EMA's staff has conducted numerous indoor and ambient air quality evaluations from baseline assessments to expert witness testimony in litigation cases. Our staff regularly evaluates OSHA issues in the general work environment and during hazardous waste and industrial site remediation projects.
