Our Mission

Affordable Solar Group is committed to supplying the highest quality solar energy solutions at wholesale prices. We hope to empower installers, contractors, communities, and businesses with opportunities to contribute to a sustainable future and clean energy economy.

We are committed to ensuring that all our customers are well taken care of and receive the individual, personal attention they deserve. We hope that everyone finds working with us to be a pleasant experience. The relationships that we build with our customers are of the utmost importance to us; we know that by working and growing together, we are all better able to deliver the products and service our customers deserve.

In 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2012 Affordable Solar received a Best Places to Work award. Employees were surveyed by Quantum Market Research Inc., a national polling and marketing company, to measure 38 attributes known to drive employee engagement. Questions were in 10 categories: team effectiveness, retention risk, alignment with goals, trust with co-workers, individual contribution, manager effectiveness, trust in senior leaders, feeling valued, work engagement and people practices. Based on their responses, companies were given a numerical score indicating employee satisfaction.

Why should you choose Affordable Solar?

Knowledge is power.

In 1998, David Hughes, President and CEO of Affordable Solar sold his first 150 solar panels from an Airstream parked in the backyard of his home. His main customers, known as 'back-to-the-landers,' were delightful, go-it-alone-survivalists interested in energy independence. Today, Affordable Solar sells over 100,000 solar panels per year and employs 70 people.

Much has changed, for Affordable Solar and the solar industry in general. Solar power is still about energy independence, but now price and turnaround time are much more important. With 16 years of industry experience, Affordable Solar is uniquely placed to offer wholesale prices, high availability, and attentive support on quality solar components. Whether a PV system powers a remote farm, a grid-tied house, or a business interested in a long term hedge against rising utility costs, our network of installers buy reliable solar equipment from Affordable Solar because we're all interested in the same thing: self-sufficiency, financial security and the freedom to generate power from the sun.

Nationwide, installations are booming, jobs are being created, and solar has proven itself as a reliable energy source. In 2013, the state of California installed more rooftop solar than all previous years combined, and the rest of the United States is catching up. Incentives are starting to dry up, but installations aren't slowing down as equipment prices continue to fall and people are beginning to realize just how much sense solar makes. Increasing electricity prices across the country will continue to push more people to consider solar as an investment for their future.

The photovoltaic industry is starting to take off. At Affordable Solar, we're dedicated to providing installers across the US with our best prices and availability for industry standards such as Canadian Solar, Power One and Unirac. Our customer service includes technical services, lead generation, financing, and customized marketing materials. Affordable Solar is as committed as ever to energy independence and growing the solar industry in the US. That's why our installers' success is our success.
