Glosfume

7 Isbourne Way, Isbourne Park, , Winchcombe,, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, United Kingdom | Energy

Founded in 1990, Glosfume has now over 1000 installations in more than 30 different countries. Glosfume design, build and install complete ceramic filtration systems.

During 2000 Glosfume became one of the first ceramic filtration companies to manufacture both ceramic filtration media and filter bodies, including pressure vessels which comply to EN286 certified by Lloyd's.

Glosfume make a point of fully understanding our customers' process and control systems. We have the facilities, technology and people who can programm PLC panels which can communicate to other PLC systems.

The underlying success of our company is reflected in the number of people who we employ, all of whom have an excellent understanding of hot gas filtration.

Without this well established team of people led by Jon Luckett and Nigel Black, Glosfume would not have achieved its leading position it has today.

Our wide customer base includes major international organisations such as Elf Oils, Inco, Pechiney, Alcan, W.S. Atkins, British Navy, French Nuclear Fuels, Total Oils and more recently Umicore.

During the 22 years of business we believe we have seen and covered more applications than any other ceramic filtration company and many of our customers have more than one Glosfume filter.

BIOMASS WOOD FIRED BOILERS FITTED WITH A CYCLONE WILL NOT COMPLY WITH RHI.

Biomass wood fired boiler emissions are referred to as PM10(particulate matter up to 10 micron) and PM2.5 (particulate matter up to 2.5 micron). Emissions are expressed as g/GJ the current level being 30g/GJ which equates to around 30mg/m3.

It is common knowledge within the Filtration Society that cyclones cannot reduce emissions below 75 mg/m3. All competent boiler manufactures are aware of this.

As at July 2014 Glosfume have installed over 400 ceramic filter installations replacing ineffective cyclones.

The first Glosfume biomass ceramic filter installation was during 2007 at Ladyloan School which reduced the emission to below 1mg/m3. Each year the ceramic filter collects 150kg of PM10 & PM2.5 the boiler is only rated at 400kW. To date the filter still operates with the original set of elements.

Glosfume Ceramic filters are exceptionally compact allowing them to be utlised in the most constructed of sites. Our standard range includes three models HTMC256, HTMC400 and HTMC600 rated at 3,150 - 5,000 and 7,200Am3/hr respectively. They all operate at up to 400°C with the ability to reduce particulates below 3mg/Nm3.
