Passive Infrared Technology (PIR)

• Occupancy sensors use infrared sensors detect occupancy using body heat

• A Fresnel lens is used to divide coverage area into zones, allowing the detection of small movement.

• Small movement detection is also enhanced by the use of Detection Signature Analysis and Pulse Count Processing.

Ultrasonic Technology

• These occupancy sensors bounce ultrasonic sound waves off objects and measure the time it takes for the waves to return.

• Movement changes the time it takes for the waves to return, in turn detecting occupancy. 

• In order to prevent false occupancy detections the sensors use the Watt Stopper Advanced Signal Processing Circuitry to automatically adjust the signal detection threshold in compensation for changing levels of activity and airflow.

Dual Technology

• Some areas are difficult to cover with just one type of occupancy sensor.

• Watt Stopper's patented Dual Technology takes advantage of the best features of PIR and ultrasonic occupancy sensors.

• Both occupancy sensors must detect occupancy to turn lights on.
