SRCL is part of Stericycle and officially became SRCL on 1 January 2008, but can trace our roots back to 1992 when we traded as Yorkshire Environmental Services. Following a change of ownership we became White Rose Environmental and then, in 2006, merged with Sterile Technologies Group.

We have continued to grow our business and provide services to a diverse group of customers within the public and private sector.

Throughout this growth period, we have continued to focus on our Customer 1ST principle – treating each customer as if they were our only customer.

We have a comprehensive infrastructure of over 20 Waste-to-Energy facilities, alternative treatment plants and waste transfer stations throughout the UK and Ireland.

With unrivalled coverage we can provide services promptly and efficiently wherever you are and with the minimum of miles covered. Technologies used include the latest heat disinfection units and high temperature incinerators, providing compliant disposal for all types of healthcare and many hazardous waste streams.

Our incinerators contribute to their local communities via electricity generation and steam production for hospital sites and municipal heating schemes – ensuring our processes are environmentally friendly.

At SRCL we are passionate about minimising the effects of waste and reducing our environmental impact. That’s why we work closely with customers, suppliers and independent consultants to develop new strategies for waste segregation and minimisation.

Our waste segregation procedures are developed in-line with the latest legislation to ensure our customers manage their waste streams in the most environmentally friendly manner. Our BioTrack waste management system is just one way of helping customers segregate quickly and easily ensuring waste is categorised, transported and treated by the most appropriate means available.

Working closely with environmental regulators and new technology providers ensures our waste disposal operations are at the forefront of the industry.

Our hospital-based incinerators produce steam and electricity for their host sites and the waste flock from our alternative technology processes can be used as a fuel source for waste to energy power generators.
