Bottle Alley Glass
Unit 653, Thorp Arch, Wetherby, West Yorkshire, United Kingdom | Glass/Fiberglass Recycling
Bottle Alley Glass recycles unwanted and waste glass bottles and fuses them into individual and unique surfaces suitable for floors, walls, work tops, lightin gpanels and furniture.
The end product is pure 100% recycled glass as no colourings or resins are used.
Splash backs make a great feature piece and the work tops are a sustanble alternative to granite.
100% recycled and 100% recyclable at the end of its life.
Bottle Alley Glass creates individual works of art from waste bottles.
Using waste bootles means that no two pieces can ever be the same.
Philippa and Alan buy the waste bottles from various sources, crush them into cullet (broken pieces) and then make molds to fuse the glass in three large kilns. These efficient kilns run off green energy using mostly off peak tariffs.
Customers are welcome to visit the workshop in Thorp Arch to see how the glass is made and to see and touch the samples.
Bottle Alley Glass supplies its glass throughout the UK and even has some in the Middle East.
Commercial clients include:
JD Wetherwpoons.
CRUSSH Juice bars.

Tata Steel.

Friends of the Earth.

Well, we take unwanted glass bottles, some of these may have been used, others are unwanted bottles from bottling factories, that as mentioned would have gone for landfill, we sort them into colours, de-label them and then crush them down to cullets. The cullets are then graded to size. Once the cullets are sized we lay them out on flat trays creating patterns and designs – each one different as no two cullets are the same. These sheets are them baked in our kilns to create slabs of really tough glass – tougher than you think, so far we have tried them with 260 kilos of weight on them and they show no signs of stress, so you can be assured of a really quality robust product. It’s a hands on process and we would be more than happy to show you if you want to pop in, just get in touch before you do so we can make sure we are doing the fun bits!
