Community Resource Network

The Community Resource Network (CRN) UK (reg. charity 1102277) is the national umbrella body for community & non-profit organisations involved in recycling, re-use and waste minimisation projects. We provide national representation, training, operational and business development support to these organisations in their activities.

The CRN was formed 20 years ago as a membership organisation, to support pioneering community-owned recycling, re-use and waste minimisation schemes. We continue to support a wide range of innovative community resource organisations (CRO) from across the UK and we include in our membership local authorities and public sector bodies looking to work with CRO's.

Our members' activities are incredibly varied and include: furniture, computer and paint re-use schemes; commercial & kerbside recycling organisations collecting glass, cans, paper, plastics, etc; on-line waste exchanges; community composting organisations collecting food & garden waste; scrapstores

London Community Resource Network (LCRN) is a charity pioneering community solutions to London’s waste challenge.  We help organisations to engage and involve communities in reducing, re-using, recycling and redistributing resources – for maximum social, economic and environmental benefit.

We work on behalf of London’s leading – and only – network of community-based waste prevention, recycling and re-use initiatives.  This network has unique expertise in behaviour change around waste prevention, recycling and re-use.

Our vision is for London to become one of the world’s most resource efficient, resilient and sustainable cities.  We aim to make London a place where all communities can play their part in reducing, re-using, recycling and redistributing resources.

Our mission is to inspire and enable Londoners to reduce, re-use, recycle and redistribute resources, for maximum community and environmental benefit. We achieve our mission by acting as London’s leading champion, connector, catalyst and capacity builder for community-based waste prevention, recycling and re-use initiatives.
