Aires Jewelers

The year was 1932 when John W. Arends began his jewelry apprenticeship with Jabel Manufacturing, a large jewelry manufacturing company in Irvington NJ. Over the next 11 years, he mastered the art of jewelry design and manufacturing, including model making, casting, setting, and polishing. Upon returning from WWII military service, John W. Arends made the decision to go into business for himself. In 1946, Aires Jewelers was born, and began operating as a wholesale jewelry manufacturing company in Newark NJ.

By 1977, it was time to expand. John’s son and current owner, Ronald W. Arends, moved the business to a warehouse in Whippany NJ. At this point Aires Jewelers was still a wholesale manufacturer… the place that other retail jewelers would send their repair and special order work out to be completed. Slowly, by way of word-of-mouth, family and friends would request to work directly with Ronald to have pieces made that they could not have done anywhere else. It was clear that a great demand existed for a traditional retail jewelry store that could have the in-house capability of a wholesale jewelry manufacturer.

Seizing that opportunity, in 1989 Ronald moved Aires Jewelers to Morris Plains NJ, and opened our “retail” doors for the first time. His sons Ronald J. and Christopher J. Arends have since joined their father and represent the third generation of family jewelry designers and manufacturers.

After two decades it was once again time to expand our capacity. In November of 2009 we began construction on a brand new building and showroom that increased our space by four times! In November of 2010 we opened our doors and introduced our 3,000 sq/ft state-of-the art fine jewelry showroom. Locatated on Rt. 10 East in Morris Plains, New Jersey our new building has become a Morris County retail landmark.

Aires Jewelers has the unique ability to combine 65 years of traditional handmade craftsmanship with new state-of-the-art technology such as CAD/CAM computer production and laser welding capability. We invite you to visit and meet with our family and team.

Services

Custom Bridal Design
We have two full-time Graduate Gemologists from the GEMOLOGICAL INSTITUTE OF AMERICA on staff everyday. Appraisal services include gem identification, item descriptions, and calculated replacement values for insurance purposes. We also offer jewelry estate appraisal services.

Expert Repairs
All jewelry repairs are completed onsite in our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility. For over sixty years, we have offered expert repairs, servicing platinum, gold and silver jewelry. With five full-time bench jewelers, we are confident to complete your repair properly and timely. All watch repairs are completed by certified watch professionals or by the designated manufacturers factory service.

Design Consultation
Call for an appointment to sit with one of our trained jewelry design experts. Using state-of-the-art CAD/CAM technology, we are able to design and manufacture the finest jewelry all completed in our manufacturing facility.

Estate Purchasing
We offer the highest prices paid for gold and estate jewelry purchasing. Bring in your unwanted gold and diamond jewelry and we will calculate and pay you on the spot!
