Scheduled to commence operations in late 2014, Eagle is an underground nickel/copper mine located in Michigan's Upper Peninsula.

Our mission is to successfully build, operate and eventually close a modern nickel-copper mine.

DESCRIPTION:

Lundin Mining Corporation is the owner, developer and future operator of the Eagle Mine in western Marquette County of Michigan's Upper Peninsula. The mine was purchased by Lundin from Rio Tinto in 2013. Eagle is the first mine to be permitted under Michigan's Part 632 Non Ferrous Mineral Mining Law. The underground mine is expected to produce 360 million pounds of nickel, 295 million pounds of copper and small amounts of other metals over its estimated eight year mine life.

Lundin Mining is a diversified base metals company with operations and projects in Portugal, Sweden, Spain and the U.S.A producing copper, zinc, lead and nickel. The company also holds a 24% equity stake in the world-class Tenke Fungurume copper/cobalt mine in the Democratic Republic of Congo, and in a cobalt business which includes a refinery located in Kokkola, Finland, which are both operated by our partner Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold Inc.
