INMETCO is a subsidiary of Horsehead Holding Corp. Every year thousands of tons of nickel, chromium, iron, molybdenum and cadmium bearing wastes are recycled by Inmetco. Inmetco's High Temperature Metal Recovery (HTMR) Process allows wastes to be recovered, reclaimed and recycled. Long-term landfill liability is eliminated. Inmetco is a subsidiary of Horsehead Holding Corp. Located 35 miles northwest of Pittsburgh in Ellwood City, Pennsylvania, Inmetco has been in operation since 1978. Inmetco is a fully permitted RCRA facility with a Part-B Storage Permit and a Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Commercial Recycling Treatment Facility Permit. Inmetco is the only permitted true recycler of nickel-cadmium batteries in North America using a High Temperature Metals Recovery Process (HTMR). Inmetco is in compliance with all applicable regulations of the United States Environmental Protection Agency, the United States Occupational Safety and Health Administration and the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection. Inmetco's EPA ID number is PAD087561015. Inmetco accepts a wide range of nickel, chromium, iron molybdenum and cadmium bearing wastes. We began in 1978 by recycling wastes from stainless steel manufacturers known as mill scale, swarf and flue dust. These wastes still make up a large percentage of our various feed stock. Since 1978, the process waste feed specifications broadened to accept other waste streams such as those listed below: Nickel, Chromium and Molybdenum Containing Sludges and Cakes Nickel & Chromium Containing Solutions Nickel, Chromium and Molybdenum Containing Dusts and Grindings Nickel & Chromium Containing Catalysts EDM & ECM Cake Nickel-Cadmium Batteries Nickel-Iron Batteries Nickel Metal Hydride Batteries Chrome-Magnesite Refractories Dolomitic Refractories Carbon Refractories Coke/Carbon Waste Magnesium Powders & Machinings Baghouse Bags Filters from Plating Operations Inmetco is permitted to accept hazardous wastes designated by the following U.S. EPA hazardous waste codes: D001 through D011, F006, K061, K062 Services In addition to the services provided directly to customers producing stainless steel, Inmetco can take a wide range of waste materials from nickel and chrome plating operations and stripping operations, as well as nickel and chrome containing catalysts, sludge, dust, grindings and turnings. Filters, bags, and anodes can also be handled.
