METALS

A rough break down of the types of materials that FMR accepts and pays for with one of their government approved scales

Ferrous : better know as steel, tin or iron. All ferrous material is magnetic; depending on its structure it may be bought as CLIPS, AUTO CAST or HEAVY MELT

BRASS: Most common form of scrap brass is yellow brass; clean brass must be free of iron and contaminants. Features a yellow hue.

COPPER: Copper comes in a variety of forms, most from either electrical or plumbing trades. The most common form is pipe or wire. Careful grading is best because of the numerous types.

ALUMINUM: Ultra common material. Used in everything from engine parts to soda delivery devices (pop cans). Clean contaminant free aluminum recovers the most profit. Non magnetic

STAINLESS : 304 or 18/8 is the most common grade. This grade is commonly used in a wide range of applications, stainless sinks for example. Stainless is non-magnetic

EWASTE: Electronic items containing circuit boards, which were historically considered waste items now have a recoverable value. Careful when sorting; some components may have less value than others.

PRICES

Metal Prices are update as quickly as possible; during periods of increased instability the prices may fluctuate too much and the webpage may not reflect the true values. A price list posted in the office will have the current scale rates. Pricing is also available through the office for brokering, call for details

SCRAP

FMR offers pickup services for large scale material, vehicles, industrial and high volume non ferrous materials for recovery and payment.

On site FMR has government certified accruate scales for the most reliable weights.
