Curbside Rewards

Curbside Rewards is a green company that offers rewards to customers who recycle. The company estimates that customers will receive hundreds of dollars in Rewards each year in the form of savings coupons and gift certificates just for recycling. Customers can select reward coupons and gift certificates from retailers.

Customers pay $9.99 per month for the service, and receive the complimentary use of a custom-tagged, 96-gallon cart. They can place co-mingled (paper, plastic and more) recyclables in this one cart without sorting. Through the use of a scan of the custom RFID tag, customers are then given credit – points for rewards – based on the total weight of their carts.

The service is already included in the trash hauling fees paid by customers of Elkhorn Sanitation Service. Currently, Curbside Rewards service is available in many areas of the Omaha metro (view participating zip codes).
