Republic Machine, Inc.
4104 Bishop Lane, Louisville, Kentucky, United States | Electronic Waste Recycling
Throughout our 100-year history, innovative solutions and sound engineering have been the basis of our success. We didn't invent plastic shredders and carpet shredders – we made them work better. Our customers come to us with their most difficult size reduction obstacles. Customers have asked: Why does clean out have to be so difficult? How can we keep film from wrapping the knife? Why should we have to cut pipe before shredding it? We've answered with the most innovative, reliable and efficient plastic shredders, and granulators, carpet shredders, and medical waste shredders on the market today. Our customers know that our creativity and problem-solving skills are as valuable to them as the products we manufacture.
The Republic Family of Companies was founded in 1911 with a focus on products for heavy industry. In 1970 George Sotsky and Jim Steedly, both engineers in the Naval Ordinance and Gunnery, purchased the company. They led it through an evolution from rebuilding mining equipment to manufacturing North America's most innovative industrial shredders. Republic Machine has always worked closely with customers to identify their toughest challenges and re-design their equipment to process better than ever. Under Mr. Sotsky's leadership, Republic Machine developed a reputation for innovative manufacturing and rebuilding machinery to be “Republic Tough.”
In the later part of the 20th century, Republic's market focus had evolved to include steel mills, forging facilities, machinery rebuild, aggregate machinery, surface mining, off-highway construction, NASA crawler track pad restoration, and the re-development of products used in the recycling industry. Our engineers applied their problem solving skills learned in these heavy machining industries to design innovations for large single shaft shredding machinery, rock crushers, hammer mills, and surface mining equipment. The engineering required for these high mortality products correlated directly to those required for industrial shredders. The metallurgical expertise along with robust mechanical designs, drive train reliability, and electrical/computer control expertise have been the key drivers for our product line in the shredder industry.
Today Republic's emphasis on engineering combined with 3-D CAD capability allows for rapid introduction of design innovations into the shredder marketplace. Our patented Modular Split-A-Part Shredder sets a new standard for efficiency by making clean out and maintenance a breeze. Our Zoidal cutting system revolutionizes the film & fiber shredding and carpet recycling markets. Our Dial-A-Length Pipe Shredder reduces overhead, improves safety, and raises workplace morale. Republic's innovations will continue to change the game for carpet shredders, plastic shredders and medical waste shredders by increasing production efficiency and decreasing costly downtime. And, as it has for 100 years, our engineering will make the difference.
