Fuel Oil From Waste Asphalt (FOWA)

We have invented a process(patent pending) for recycling waste asphalt produced on the highways, tennis courts and residential driveways into fuel oil (link to the fuel-oil report can be seen here).using our bioremediation product VaporRemed. The prototype unit is known as a FOWA I and can process about 100 lbs of waste asphalt.

Mission Statement: To process waste asphalt in an environmentally safe manner by transforming it into commercially useful Fuel Oil. It is a process using cold water and VaporRemed, a bioremediation product. The process does not affect the environment nor contributes to Emissions in the air.

Our studies on the bioremediation of waste asphalt showed that the asphalt is broken down into a free-floating oil. However, if the asphalt material is pretreated with a solvent, the production of fuel was expedited.

According to the data available, in the USA alone more than 70 million tons of waste asphalt is generated annually. More than 11 million tons of waste roof shingles are added to the waste annually. Asphalt is a material difficult to degrade in the landfill and hence it is prohibited to dispose of the waste asphalt and shingles in the landfills.
