About Us

NexCycle is the leading provider of services for retailers and property management companies who are affected by California's recycling law. Our multiple recycling platforms offer a solution for any situation the retailer is confronted with. Our flexible solutions will allow a property owner or management company to select the operational platform that best suits the property where the retailer is located allowing their major tenant the ability to be in compliance with the State's recycling law.

Why are retailers required to provide recycling services? In 1986, the State Legislature passed a law, the 'California Beverage Container Recycling and Litter Reduction Act' requiring any retailer who sells CRV beverage containers (soda, beer, etc.) to provide a place where consumers would be able to recycle these containers and be reimbursed the crv they originally paid when they purchased the beverages.

In 1987, NexCycle began providing the recycling services mandated by the State law. Since that time NexCycle has worked with the California retailers to understand what they needed most from their recycling service provider. We are the only recycling company to be members of both the California Grocers Association (CGA) and the California Retailers Association (CRA). We also worked closely with the property owners and property management companies to understand what they required from a company providing the mandated services for the retailer located at their shopping center. NexCycle is the only recycling company that is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC).

How to recycle

We purchase all CRV containers. These are beverage containers where you have paid a CRV charge when you purchased the containers from a California retailer. Look at the label for the universal recycle symbol and the words CA CASH REFUND or CA CRV.

To allow us to recycle your material in the most efficient manner and provide you with the best experience possible please follow these simple guidelines:

• If possible, please separate your material by container type.

• Please make sure all containers are free of liquid and other debris.

• Please remove the plastic caps from the bottles before coming in to recycle.

• If requested, we will count the material if you bring in less than 50 containers of any CRV material type.

Look for our redemption operations anywhere you shop for groceries. There are approximately 250 recycling centers across the state that will redeem the California Refund Value on your bottles and cans--use the recycling center locator to find the centers near you.
