Septic Services of PA
Our History
In the summer of 1973, James D. Foresman Sr. opened a small excavating business. He started out with nothing more than a used backhoe and a dumptruck. Through those first hard and struggling years he rapidly gained recognition for his honesty, quality, and hard work. In 1980 he purchased our first vacuum truck, for the purpose of pumping septic tanks. It was an old metal milk tank mounted onto a 1964 International straight truck. The demand for this service grew and in 1983 he hired his son, James D. Foresman Jr., to work full-time. Over the years more full-time employees were hired. The company began investing in additional equipment, vacuum trucks and support vehicles to better serve their customers. In 1989 Jim Jr. joined an organization, known as the 'Pennsylvania Septage Management Association' or (P.S.M.A.), allowing us to perform certified septic system inspections. Today we are a full scale septic service company, complete with our own residential septic treatment facility. Through our history we have installed and inspected hundreds of septic systems, and have pumped many thousands of septic tanks. With the hiring of Jerald Foresman, son of James Foresman Jr. in 2002, the company now spans 3 generations as a 'Family Owned and Operated Company'. Recently in 2009 the company has made some major changes with the downsizing of our excavating division. We have invested and are focusing more on our septic services division. We are proud of our past and excited for the future.
Our Treatment Facility
We are proud to operate our own on-site DEP permitted Septic Treatment and Land Application Facility #PAG-09-4840 since 2008. It is located on our 98-acre farm just off Route 554 in Lycoming County.
What do we do with your waste?
After waste is treated, processed, Screened for garbage and stored, it is transported via tanker truck to one of our permitted farms for land application. These farms are permitted by the Pennsylvania Department Of Environmental Protection for the application of biosolids. These farms are in a conservation program to eliminate stormwater run-off and soil erosion. The farms utilize this biosolid for fertilization on their fields in order to grow crops such as corn, alfalfa, hay and soybeans. What sets us apart is that most companies pump their customer's tanks and then transport the waste material to a municipal treatment plant where it is processed. Often times it may take two companies to process and handle your waste for disposal. Foresman Septic Services handles the entire process in order to keep your costs down.
