Factors When Hiring Los Angeles, CA Hazardous Waste Hauling Services
Compliance: It is critical to make sure that the hazardous waste hauling service you are hiring is in compliance with all federal, state, and municipal regulations. Because this waste will be transported on public roads, there are requirements by U.S. DOT and the EPA in order for these transports to take place. This includes EPA identification numbers, licenses, and permits. Each state and local governments also have licenses and permits that may be required. You also want to inquire about the driving records of the waste services truck drivers. Find out if there have been any violations issued against the company drivers and/or accidents that have taken place.
Insurance: California, just like every state, has its own insurance requirements for hazardous waste hauling services in Los Angeles, CA. There are also insurance requirements that are dependent on what type and how much waste is being transported. Make sure the company you hire has enough liability insurance to make sure your company is protected in the event of some type of accident or spill during transport.
Services: Determine what type of services you actually need and then make sure the company you are thinking about hiring has experience in transporting that type of waste. For example, the type of containers needed to transport the waste will depend on the form of the waste – gas, liquid, solid, etc.). Ask the company what industries they have worked with in the past, as well as what type of client recommendations they may have received.
Cost: While cost is always a consideration, it should not be the driving force in the final decision. Although you may be tempted to hire the company with the lowest price, you could end up paying more in the long run if the company’s inexperience or lack of professionalism results in an accident that requires expensive cleanup. If the company you hire does have a quality environmental protection program in place or does not use best practices in Los Angeles, CA hazardous waste hauling services, it is best to avoid that company and hire one that does have those things in place. If you are concerned about the price, ask the company to breakdown and explain the price they have given you for the removal of the hazardous waste.
Contracts: Make sure that the company you hire provides a written contract that contains details regarding the services that the company is going to provide. This should also include information about the liability insurance the company carries (as mentioned above). A company not willing to provide a written contract should be a red flag that you should take your business elsewhere. The financial ramifications of working with a company that won’t put it in writing could be catastrophic.

Over the years we have completed numerous kinds of commercial asbestos removal and demolition projects, and there's no project in these areas we don't have consistently extensive experience with. This kind of work is highly regulated by the industry and workers must be carefully trained and re-certified every year, including medical exams that are kept on file for 30 years! Certification, Contractor License, Insurance, Payment and Performance Bond
In this highly regulated business, the most important concern is hiring the right contractor to do the job. That contractor must have the proper AHERA supervisor/contractor certifications, workers certifications, contractors license, and insurance. The type or form of insurance usually required of an asbestos contractor is known as “occurrence”. It protects the named insured forever, in that if this insurance is in place when an “occurrence” happens, you are covered even if the contractor is no longer in business. Occurrence insurance is usually required at a $5,000,000 level. In addition, payment and performance bonds are used to protect you if your contractor goes bankrupt during an asbestos abatement project. All insurance may be negotiable, except for workmen’s compensation which is required by law. This limits the employer's liability if an employee is injured, and guarantees that the employee's medical needs will be taken care of at no cost to them.
Nielsen Environmental has been operating as a licensed demolition and abatement contractor since 2010. Located at 10445 Wilshire Blvd., Suite 2003, Los Angeles CA 90024.

CEO AND FOUNDER
Kevin, a California native, was born in Santa Monica and raised in nearby Culver City. He graduated from Culver High School in June of 1979 and began his career in the construction field as an apprentice carpenter with Carpenters Local 1400 Santa Monica in August of the same year. Over time, he worked his way up to Class 'A' carpentry and gained experience in both the public and private sectors, working on large-scale concrete projects.
In November of 1995, Kevin obtained his contractor's license and began seeking out seismic retrofit jobs after the Northridge Earthquake. He took advantage of the Anchor LA Program, which was launched by the City of Los Angeles to provide homeowners with funds to retrofit their homes. Kevin's business benefited greatly from the program's free advertising, and he completed many successful projects.
When the seismic work began to slow down in the summer of 2004, Kevin decided to shift his focus to asbestos abatement contracting. With his extensive experience in construction, he quickly became a trusted contractor in the field
